The mission of North Alabama Coalition for the Homeless is to empower people in our community through compassionate, recovery-focused support addressing substance use, mental health, and housing instability—meeting individuals where they are through trauma-informed, person-centered care that promotes dignity, connection, and lasting stability.
Project WHY
Project WHY aims to facilitate genuine empathy through understanding homeless people’s individual stories. Nobody is inherently homeless. Everybody has a story & everybody has a WHY. Project WHY allows individuals experiencing homelessness to tell their stories about WHY they are where they are while restoring humanity’s empathy toward homelessness in America.
